Tumut Shire Growth Strategy Public Exhibition of Draft Tumut Shire Growth Strategy 2013-2033 Following the gazettal of the Tumut Local Environmental Plan (LEP) 2012 (which was a standard instrument conversion LEP replacing Tumut LEP 1990 and Yarrowlumla LEP 2002), Council has prepared a draft Growth Strategy to guide its land use planning for the next 20 years. The major components of the Strategy are: 1. Consolidation of previous strategy documents into an overarching strategy; 2. Providing for the expansion of the Adelong, Batlow and Tumut urban areas; 3. Consolidating the industrial land uses on the western edge of Tumut township; and 4. Investigation of additional Heritage Items and Conservation Areas. Detailed Planning Reports have also been prepared for the Adelong, Batlow and Tumut investigation areas identified in the Growth Strategy. Council is seeking public comment on the Growth Strategy and associated reports and is placing them on public exhibition from Monday 17th June to Friday 16th August 2013. Adelong Commercial Area - Policy - TP.04 v1.6 - Adopted 30/04/2013 The purpose of the policy is to retain the existing streetscape in the Adelong commercial area by encouraging the retention of verandahs and street trees.

Saleyard Committee - Terms of Reference - TofR.14 v1.6 - Adopted 23/04/2013. The purpose of the committee is to: Provide appropriate advice and recommendations on matters relevant to the Tumut Saleyards; Provide a forum for discussion of Saleyard related issues;

Community Records - Policy - CusServ.08 v1.1 - Adopted 30/04/2013. The purpose of this policy is to provide scope and regulation to the acceptance of Community Records offered for donation to the Tumut Shire Council.

Disposal of Waste at Waste Recycling Centres Policy - Env.01 v2.2 - Adopted 30/04/2013. The purpose is to explain what products can be deposited at Council’s WRCs and under what terms and conditions and to provide a mechanism for non profit organizations to dispose of selected waste at Waste Recycling Centre at a reduced / no cost.

Adelong Falls Gold Mill Ruins Committee - Terms of Reference - TofR.19 v1.2 - Adopted 23/04/2013 The purpose of the committee is to: a. Assist Council in implementing the recommendations in the Adelong Falls Conservation Management Plan. b. Make recommendations to Council regarding conservation and management of the Adelong Falls Reserve.

Minor Mains Extension - Policy - WWWtr.03 v1.0 - Adopted 26/03/2013. The purpose of this policy is to provide equitable cost sharing of water and/or sewer mains extensions to un-serviced properties that are paying water and/or wastewater Availability charges.  These un-serviced properties, are usually located within 75 metres of a sewerage main and/or 225 metres of a water main.

Aerodrome Committee - Terms of Reference - TofR.12v1.5 - Adopted 26/03/2013. The purpose of the Aerodrome Committee is to: Assist Council with strategic planning in relation to the Tumut Aerodrome; and Provide comment on aerodrome matters presented in committee meetings.

Aboriginal Liaison Committee - Terms of Reference - TofR.01 v1.4 - Adopted 26/03/2013. The purpose of the committee is to provide a forum between Council and the Aboriginal community of the Tumut Shire on key issues.

Montreal Theatre - Policy - ComDev.04 v1.3 - Adopted 29/01/2013. The purpose is to retain ownership of the Theatre with all operations and financial responsibility remaining with the Community Theatre Committee.

Sports Committee - Terms of Reference - TofR.04 v1.3 - Adopted 26/03/2013. The purpose of the committee is to: Provide appropriate advice and recommendations on matters relevant to sport and recreation in the Shire; Provide a forum for discussion of sport and recreation issues; To advise Council on the level of service preferred regarding the maintenance of sporting facilities; To recommend to Council the allocation of Tumut Shire Council’s Sports Capital Projects Grant and Athletes Assistance program; To assist new or struggling clubs to survive and grow if deemed appropriate. To promote sport and recreation in our Shire;

Banners and Flags Policy - ComDev.03 v2.0 - Adopted 26/02/2013 The aims of Tumut Shire Council's Banners and Flags Poliyc are to: Promote community events through the use of street banners in Adelong, Batlow and Tumut. Promote communitye vents through the use of street flags in Adelong, Batlow Grungle, Talbingo and Tumut. 

Stock Grid Policy - Roads.08 v1.4 - Adopted 26/02/2013. The purpose of this policy is to clarify how stock grids may be installed on public roads.

Access and Equity Policy - ComDev.05 v1.3 - Adopted 26/02/2013. The purpose of this policy is to recognise and value the diversity of the community. a) To provide opportunities for and encourage the community to participate in and influence decisions related to Council’s program development and service delivery. b) To plan and deliver services that effectively meets the needs of a diverse community and ensures resources are distributed equitably. c) To foster communication and community understanding so that the rights and responsibilities of all people are recognised. d) To plan and develop processes that ensure the Local Government area is an accessible physical environment for all.

Collection of Firewood - Council Controlled Roads Policy - Roads.10 v1.2 - Adopted 26/02/2013 The purpose is to ensure the protection of valuable roadside vegetation within the Tumut Shire area.

Community Services Policy - ComDev.02 v2.1 - Adopted 26/02/2013. The purpose of this policy is for Council to address the community wellbeing of all people within Tumut Shire and facilitate, support and advocate meeting their needs.

Tumut Shire CTC and Library Internet Policy - CusServ.07 v3.1 - Adopted 26/02/2013. The purpose is to have a Council Policy on the public use of computer equipment at Council Community Technology Centre and library facilities.

Backflow Prevention Policy - Reg.05 v2.12 - Adopted 26/02/2013. The aims of this policy are: 1.1 To minimise public health risk 1.2 To protect the quality of potable water supply in the Tumut Shire councils water reticulation systems. 1.3 To ensure cross-connection control in properly managed within properties undertaking domestic and non domestic activities.

Debt Recovery Policy - Fin.01 v1.4 - Adopted 26/02/2013. The Aim of this policy is to outline the debt recovery procedures that will be undertaken by Tumut Shire Council and to ensure the effective control over all debts.

Financial Management Policy - Fin.07 v1.4 - Adopted 26/02/2013. The purpose is to amalgamate previous Council resolutions and small policies into a comprehensive summary of important Financial Management guidelines.

Arrangements to Settle Accounts Policy - Fin.12 v1.4- Adopted 26/02/2013. The purpose of the policy is to explain how Council staff can make an arrangement with customers to settle debtor accounts when the customer is experiencing financial difficulties and is unable to pay their debt in full by the due date.

Display of second hand vehicles Policy -  Reg.03 v1.3 - Adopted 26/02/2013. The purpose of this policy is; a) To control the display of private second hand vehicles for sale on public property in order to: Minimise traffic hazard by displaying vehicles in appropriate locations. Minimise the impact on residents, tourists, businesses and users of public facilities. Prevent visual pollution. b) Provide an opportunity for residents to display second hand motor vehicles for sale on public property.

Volunteer Policy - OHSRM.01 v3.3 - Adopted 26/02/2013. The purpose is; To ensure that volunteering remains a mutually beneficial activity. To recognise the important contribution volunteers make to achieving Council and community goals. To clarify the relationship between Council staff and volunteers. To provide a safe and healthy workplace for volunteers. To identify training requirements to ensure associated activities are undertaken in a safe manner To provide appropriate supervision to ensure activities are satisfactorily performed

Directional Signs Policy - Roads.11 v1.3 - Adopted 26/02/2013. The purpose of this policy is to provide Council with a standard means of signposting street names, community facilities, services, commercial services and tourist attractions without detriment to raod safety and surrounding amenity.

Aboriginal Cultural Protocols and Practices Policy - ComDev.07v1.1 - Adopted : 26/02/2013. The purpose of this policy is to assist Council in observing the appropriate protocols in recognising the original Custodians of the Land at official events and ceremonies.

Road Service Crossings Policy - Roads.01 v1.2 - Adopted 26/02/2013. The purpose of this policy is to prescribe reasonable construciton methods for service crossings to protect road infrastructure.

Use and Custody of Common Seal Policy - Gov.10 v1.4 - Adopted 26/02/2013 The purpose of this policy is to identify responsibility for the safe keeping of the Common Seal.

Crown Roads Policy - Roads.13 v1.4 - Adopted 26/02/2013. The Aim of this policy is to identify responsibilities for maintaining Crown Roads for the purpose of accessing a development or subdivision.

Provision of Rural School Bus Routes and Bus Stops Policy - Roads.07 v1.3 - Adopted 26/02/2013. To provide Council with the means to consistently and objectively assess requests for new rural school bus routes and bus stops

Donations Rates and Water Assistance Policy - Fin.04 v1.4 - Adopted 26/02/2013. The purpose is to identify why and to which organisations, events and individuals Council will provide financial assistance by way of a gift, donation, exemption, scholarship and / or assistance for fees or charges.

Ecologically Sustainable Development Policy - Env.07 v1.4 - Adopted 29/01/2013. The purpose is to communicate Council’s commitment to meeting the Shire’s development needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

Fitness for Work Policy - OHS.14 v1.1 - Adopted 29/01/2013. The purpose is to facilitate the provision of a safe, healthy and productive place of work through effective management of employee fitness for work risk.

Access to Information Policy - Gov.20 v1.1 - Adopted 29/01/2013 The purpose of this policy is to describe Council’s principles regarding public access to information and to facilitate the processing of requests for such access. This policy is to be read in conjunction with the Publication Guide.

Public Interest Disclosure Internal Reporting Policy - Gov.15 v2.1 - Adopted 29/01/2013. This policy establishes an internal reporting system for the reporting of disclosures of corrupt conduct, maladministration, serious and substantial waste of public money or government information contraventions by any employee of Tumut Shire Council, Councillors or someone in the service of a public authority.

Disposal of Assets Policy - GOV.24 v1.0 - Adopted 29/01/2013. The purpose is to provide a systematic and accountable method for the disposal of surplus assets, excluding real property, and to ensure the process is transparent and complies with Council's Code of Conduct, particularly with respect to conflict of interest. 

Investment Policy - Fin.08 v2.1 - Adopted 29/01/2013. The purpose is to undertake investment of surplus funds in line with Councils current Investment Policy and Strategy and to maximize earnings from authorised investments under current legislation and ensure the security of Council’s funds.

Tumut Festival Of The Falling Leaf Committee - TofR.22 v1.1 - Adopted 27/11/2012. The purpose of the committee is to plan, organise and deliver a quality annual festival event within budget for the whole of the Tumut Shire that provides a low cost, high value festival experience for both the community and visitors to the region.

Gifts and Benefits Policy - GOV.23 v1.0 adopted 30 October 2012. The purpose of this Policy is to: Ensure that Council officials are made aware of their obligations and responsibilities concerning the offer or acceptance of any gift or benefit; and Provide guidance to Council officials in identifying, assessing and managing offers of gifts or benefits to ensure that they do not constitute or are perceived to constitute corrupt conduct.

Interaction between Councillors and Staff Policy - GOV.22 v1.0 adopted 30 October 2012. The purpose of this policy is to: Provide direction on interaction between Councillors and council officers, to ensure both parties receive advice to help them in the performance of their civic roles in an orderly and regulated manner. Provide guidelines on Councillor rights to access information, resources and premises in accordance with Council’s Code of conduct and other relevant policies and legislation. Reference a clear and consistent framework through which breaches to this policy will be managed and reported in accordance with Council’s Code of Conduct. Ensure Council complies with the spirit and intent of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.

Consultative Committee Constitution - TofR.11 v2.0 - Adopted 08/11/2012. The purpose of the Committee is: 1. to provide a forum for consultation between the General Manger and Council employees; 2. to positively co-operate in workplace reform to enhance the efficiency and productivity and to provide employees with access to career opportunities and more fulfilling, varied and better paid work; and 3. to act as an advisory committee to provide input into Council decisions.

Tumut Railway Precinct Terms of Reference - TofR.18 v2.1 - Adopted 27/11/2012. The purpose of the Committee is to; Manage the railway precinct area of 4.703 hectares located between the Adelong Road and Yarra Road, Tumut. To ensure compliance with all relevant leases, Acts and regulations.

Youth Council Terms of Reference -  TofR.08 v2.0 - Adopted 27/11/2012 The aim of the Committee is to provide a forum for consultation between Council and the youth of Tumut Shire to achieve – Promotion of a positive profile of young people Active involvement in increasing the level and variety of entertainment and recreation for young people Provision of a forum where young people can express their views and those views will be heard and respected Improved two-way communication lines between young people and the rest of the community

Workers Compensation Policy -RM.04 v1.3 - Adopted 29/9/2009 The aims of this policy are: to reinforce council’s commitment to providing a safe and healthy work environment to provide a mechanism for reporting and managing workplace illness and injury to enable investigation and discussion of workplace accidents, with a view to remedial action

Work Placement Policy - HR.29 v1.0 - Adopted 27/9/2010 The aim is to Provide a framework for receiving and processing requests from external agencies for temporary work placements with Council.

Water Supply Connections Policy - Wtr.05 v1.3 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose of this policy is to provide the conditions in which the provision of water supply connections to properties can be made.

Water Restrictions Policy - Wtr.02 v1.0 - Adopted 25/08/2009. The purpose is:- To provide a policy for the sensible use of water by residential and nonresidential properties in times of water shortages. To provide trigger levels for the implementation of water restrictions. To utilize water restrictions as a demand management tool in times of water shortages and or infrastructure breakdowns.

Verandahs over Footpaths Policy - Bld.12 v1.3 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose of this policy is to encourage the construction and retention of verandahs over public footpaths in commercial areas.

Use of Council Plant at Bushfires Policy - Emerg.01 v1.1 - Adopted 30/06/2009. This policy has been prepared to cover the specific use of bulldozers at grass and bush fires.

Tumut Volunteer Coordinator's Manual - CorpPlan.17 v2.0 - Adopted 22/02/2005. Last Reviewed - December 2010. This handbook has been developed especially for Volunteers at Tumut Shire Council whose contribution to the community has proven invaluable over many years.

Tumut Community Gardens Group Committee - TofR.15 v1.0 - Adopted 15/12/2009. The objectives of the committee are: To form a Community Group who are interested in gardening. Trade Practices Act - Policy in Support of the - Gov.09 v1.3 - Adopted 29/09/2009. This policy seeks to advise Councillors, staff and the public as to how Council is committed to complying with the spirit and the intent of the Trades Practices Act.

Trade Waste Policy - Env.05 v1.1 - Adopted 29/09/2009. This Policy has been developed to ensure the proper control of liquid trade waste discharged to the sewerage system and hence protection of public health, worker safety, the environment, and Council’s sewerage system. The policy also promotes waste minimisation and water conservation.

Tourism Advisory Committee Terms of Reference - TofR.20 v1.0 - Adopted 24/05/2011. The purpose of the committee is to: Provide a forum to monitor all aspects of tourism activity within the Shire. Act as a conduit for information flow between tourism stakeholders in the Shire; Foster links between the Visitor Centre, the local tourism industry, Council and other major tourism stakeholders in the Shire; Leverage funds between the State and Regional Tourist Organisations; Provide recommendations for councils consideration regarding actions required to address tourism issues;

Third Age Committee Terms of Reference - TofR.05 v1.2 - Adotped 16/12/2008. The purpose of the Committee is to identify the needs of the Third Age community in Tumut Shire, and to facilitate the meeting of these needs.

Tendering Policy - Gov.08 v1.7 - Adopted 24/11/2009. The purpose is; To clearly identify the principles for making decisions in all aspects of calling for and awarding tenders for any work to be carried out for or on behalf of Council. To ensure that Council's procedures consistently comply with the requirements of the Local Government Act (section 55) and Local Government (General) Regulation 2005

Temporary Accommodation in Caravans Policy - Bld.11 v1.5 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose is to clearly outline the circumstances under which a caravan may be used as temporary accommodation on land within the Tumut Shire.

Television Film Production Shoots Policy - Reg.11 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The aims of this Policy are to provide Council with a framework for approving film production shoots, and to provide film production companies with an understanding of the procedures they must follow for film shoots to take place.

Street Tree Policy - Roads.15 v1.2 - Adotped 24/11/2009. The purpose is to ensure that an appropriate management plan for maintaining the desired streetscape is developed and implemented in all towns in the Shire.

Street Stall Policy - Reg.02 v1.1 - Adotped 30/06/2009. This Policy sets out Council’s requirements for the allocation and conduct of street stalls within the Tumut Town area.

Street Parking Control Policy - Reg.10 v1.3 - Adotped 29/09/2009. The purpose is to detail Council’s procedure regarding enforcement of street parking restrictions under the Road Act 1993 and Roads (General) Regulation 2000.

Street Naming Policy - Roads.02 v1.4 - Adotped 30/06/2009. The purpose of this policy is to have a list of pre-approved names for naming of roads in the Shire.

Stormwater Drainage Construction Maintenance Policy - Wtr.04 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose of this policy is; i. To provide guidelines for the construction and maintenance of stormwater drainage systems. ii. To provide guidance for the selection of stormwater improvement projects.

Stock or Vehicle Loading Ramps Policy - Roads.09 v1.3 - Adotped 29/09/2009. The purpose of this policy is to clarify where stock or vehicle loading ramps are to be installed.

Statement of Business Ethics - Gov.16 v1.1 - Adopted 24/05/2011. Council aims to promote integrity, ethical conduct and accountability through its operations to maintain trust, connectiveness and responsiveness to our community.

SnowyWS Community Reserve Donations Policy - Fin.03 v1.0 - Adotped 23/09/2009. This policy aims to identify organisations, events and individuals Snowy Works and Services will provide minor financial assistance to by way of a donation on behalf of Council.

Signs as Remote Supervision Procedures - RM.03 v1.3 - Adotped 29/09/2009. The objective of these procedures is to provide a simple, systematic and readily useable procedure to determine signage requirements for facilities within Tumut Shire, such as public reserves, parks and pools, (as specified in appendix A) which are owned and/or operated by Council or under the care and control of Tumut Shire Council.

Section 94 Contributions Plan - Public Roads - 03.60 v1.0 - Adotped 05/08/1997. This Plan has been prepared to:- Demonstrate that demand is generated for road works as a consequence of increasing traffic movements through residential, rural residential and rural small holding development areas within the Tumut Shire; Justify the Council levying a contribution towards the provision of road works to service residential, rural residential and rural small holding areas as a consequence of further development of those areas; Specify appropriate formulae for the calculation of the contributions ; and For associated purposes.

Section 94 Contributions Plan - Carparking - 03.60 v1.0 - Adopted 05/08/1997. The Plan has been prepared to: Implement Section 2 .6 of Council's Development Control Plan No. 3 - Car Parking, and Council's Car Parking Strategy for the Tumut Town Centre; Justify the imposition of conditions, pursuant to Section 91 of the Act, for contributions associated with development which will lead to demand for car parking facilities in the Tumut General Business area, and require a contribution towards the provision of those facilities pursuant to Section 94 of the Act; Specify the formula for the calculation of car parking contributions ; and Provide for associated purposes.

Safe Work Awards Policy - OHS.10 v1.1 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The aim of this policy is to promote and recognize high standards of occupational health and safety in Council’s workplaces.

Safe Pool Operations Manual - 02.76 v1.0 - Adotped 24/04/2007. This guideline is a compilation of information and material that is necessary for you to undertake maintenance and cleaning at Tumut Shire Council swimming pools covering Tumut, Adelong and Batlow Pools.

S355 Committee Constitution Induction Manual - TofR:03 v1.0 - Adopted 16/12/2008.  

Roads Asset Risk Management Plan - RP.05 v1.0 - Adopted 28/06/2011. The purpose of this core road assets risk management plan is to document the results and recommendations resulting from periodic identification, assessment and treatment of risks associated with providing services to the community from road assets, using the fundamentals of Australian Standard for Risk Management, AS/NZS 4360; 2004.

Roads Asset Management Plan - RP.04 v1.0 - Adotped 28/06/2011. This Roads Asset Management Plan (RAMP) has been compiled in order to comply with Local Government regulatory requirements (that includes Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting) and also to demonstrate Council’s responsible management of assets (and services provided from these assets).

Road Safety Strategic Plan 2011-2016 - CorpPlan.21 v1.0 - Adotped 21/12/2010. The aim of this plan is to reduce the incidence, severity and cost of road crashes across the Tumbarumba, Gundagai and Tumut Shires.  

Riverina Regional Library Internet Usage Policy - CusServ.06 v1.0 - Adopted 27/07/2010. The purpose of this policy is to clearly outline user responsibilities for library clients in relation to access and use of internet applications at Riverina Regional Library branch libraries.

Riverina Regional Library Guidelines for Library Staff Working in Isolation Policy - CusServ.05 v1.0 - Adopted 27/07/2010. The purpose of this policy is to outline best-practice models of security for library staff working in isolation.

Riverina Regional Library Customer Lending Policy - CusServ.04 v1.0 - Adopted 27/07/2010. The purpose of this policy is to clearly outline the regulations for library clients in relation to: the terms of loan of library materials; the renewal of library materials; the reservation of library materials; and the loss or damage of library materials whilst on loan

Riverina Regional Library Customer Exclusion Policy - CusServ.03 v1.0 -Adopted 27/07/2010. This policy determines the parameters and guidelines for library staff to follow in regards to exclusion of members of the public from libraries.

Riverina Regional Library Childrens Policy - CusServ.02 v1.0 - Adopted 27/07/2010. The RRL Children’s Policy determines guidelines for all stakeholders, including staff and the public, in relation to the presence of children within RRL branch libraries. Guidelines include parental responsibilities, child safe and child-friendly principles and mandatory reporting of ‘at risk’ children.

Riverina Noxious Weeds Inspection Policy - Env.12 v1.0 - Adopted 24/05/2011. This policy sets out Council’s noxious weeds inspection program. The inspection program aims to detect new and emerging weeds before they become established in the region.

Rehabilitation Policy - RM.02 v1.4 - Amended 1/12/2010. The purpose is to confirm that Tumut Shire Council is committed to the occupational Rehabilitation of employees who may be injured or become ill as a result of their employment with Council.

Recycled Water Policy - Wtr.01 v1.0 - Adopted 28/07/2009. To provide an organisational commitment to the safe and sustainable management and use of recycled water that consistently meets the Australian Guidelines for Water Recycling, as well as recycled water and other State regulatory requirements.

Records Management Policy - Gov.07 v2.1 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpost of this policy is; To demonstrate the commitment of management to comply with the requirements of the State Records Act, 1998. To ensure that Council provides appropriate storage of and access to all records, whatever format these records take, minimising all risks to records. To ensure continuity of operations at all times and to ensure Council’s legal and financial position. To preserve records of historical and / or cultural significance. To share knowledge effectively within and outside Council.

Rates Hardship Policy - Fin.09 v1.1 - Adopted 29/09/2009. This ‘Rates Hardship’ policy provides guidance for customers who are facing financial hardship and are unable to pay their rates.

Tumut Region Economic Development Strategy - CorpPlan.20 v1.0 - Adopted 22/02/2011. The Tumut Region Economic Development Strategy (TREDS) is a ‘Business, Industry and Community and Regional Planning Document’. The plan has been facilitated by Tumut Shire Council.  

Social Plan 2010-2015 - CorpPlan.15 v2.0 - Adopted 26/10/2010. The 2010-2015 Social Plan for the Tumut Shire forms the basis of a strategic direction for recognising and meeting the social needs of the community throughout the Shire.

Riverina Noxious Weed Rapid Response Plan - Env.13 v1.0 - Adopted 20/12/2011. The purpose of the rapid response plan is to ensure a consistent approach to the management of new incursions of High Risk species throughout the Riverina.

Quality Customer Service Policy - Gov.13 v1.4 - Adopted 08/03/2011. The aim of this policy is to develop an organisational culture focused on meeting the needs and expectations of the customer and continuously improving services for the customer.

Purchasing Policy - Gov.12 v1.2 - Adopted 24/11/2009. The purpose of this policy is: 1. To obtain best value for Council in purchasing, not simply on a ‘lowest cost’ basis. 2. To minimise administrative costs from purchasing activities. 3. To support local business where feasible. 4. To ensure all purchases are made in a fair, consistent, legal and ethical way that makes it clear that Council is beyond reproach in its purchasing actions.

Public Health Plan - CorpPlan.23 v1.3 - Adopted 24/04/2012. A particular aim of this document is to demonstrate measures Council Officer’s take to ensure a safe and healthy environment for local residents, businesses and industry to live and work in, as well as a welcoming place for visitors to come and enjoy.

Public Arts Policy - ComDev.01 v1.0 - Adopted 16/12/2008. The aims of the Tumut Shire Council’s Public Art Policy are to: Integrate public art into the planning and design of key locations in the Tumut Shire. Create high quality public spaces through the integration of public art, urban and landscape design. Support the development of innovative and quality public art for The Tumut Shire. To develop an ongoing and sustainable public art program. Increase the understanding and enjoyment of contemporary art by the community. Develop a sense of identity and pride in the Tumut Shire.

Provision of Potable Water from Council Standpipes Policy - Reg.06 v1.1 - Adopted 24/11/2009. The purpose is to: i) To provide guidelines for the cartage of potable water from standpipes by road tanker. ii) To ensure the water is not contaminated in the delivery process to residents. iii) To maintain Council control and records in the provision of such water.

Provision of Contract Services by Council Policy - Gov.01 v1.3 - Adopted 30/06/2009. To confirm Council’s commitment to demonstrate its competitiveness in the market place by tendering for work and by exposing Council work to competition

Prohibited Camping on Crown Reserve Policy - Reg.14 v1.3 - Adopted 24/11/2009. The aim of this policy is to explain how Council will respond to camping in prohibited areas.

Processing Development Applications - TP.06 v1.4 - Adopted 24/11/2009. The aim of this policy is to ensure that Council processes all applications in an acceptable timeframe and complies with regulatory requirements.

Private Water Service Policy - Wtr.03 v1.4 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose of this policy is to set conditions under which a private water service may be installed to a property.

Footpaths and Kerbs Asset Risk Management Plan - RP.17 v1.0 - Adopted 24/07/2012. The purpose of this core footpath and kerb assets risk management plan is to document the results and recommendations resulting from periodic identification, assessment and treatment of risks associated with providing services to the community from road bridge assets, using the fundamentals of Australian Standard for Risk Management, AS/NZS 3100:2009.

Footpaths and Kerbs Asset Management Plan - RP.16 v1.0 - Adopted 24/07/2012. This Footpaths and Kerbs Asset Management Plan (FKAMP) has been compiled in order to comply with Local Government regulatory requirements (that includes Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting) and also to demonstrate Council’s responsible management of assets (and services provided from these assets).

Local Preference Policy - Gov.21 v1.0 - Adopted 24/07/2012. The Local Preference Policy is to be read in conjunction with Council’s Procurement Policy, Tendering Policy and Sustainable Choice Policy and Program to ensure that Council achieves the best ‘overall value-for-money’ in its procurement of goods and services, whilst (where possible) giving preference to local suppliers, and non-local suppliers using local content, to support the Shire’s economic development.

Building over Sewerage Mains - Policy - WWWtr.01 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. To provide guidelines that control that erection of buildings and other structures over Council sewerage mains.

Bridge Assets Risk Management Plan - RP.07 v1.0 - Adopted 28/06/2011. The purpose of this core road bridge assets risk management plan is to document the results and recommendations resulting from periodic identification, assessment and treatment of risks associated with providing services to the community from road bridge assets, using the fundamentals of Australian Standard for Risk Management, AS/NZS 4360; 2004.

Bridge Assets Management Plan (BAMP) - RP.06 v1.0 - Adopted 28/06/2011. This Asset Management Plan is to demonstrate Council’s responsible management of assets (and services provided from assets), compliance with regulatory requirements, in particular Council’s Integrated Planning and Reporting, and to communicate funding required to provide the required levels of service.

Batlow Memorial Park 2005-2015 - Strategy - 01.30 v1.0 - Adopted 25/10/2005. The purpose of the Strategy is to set direction for management of the park over the next 10 years (2005-2015).

Batlow Literary Institute 2005-2015 - Strategy - 01.31 v1.0 - Adopted 25/10/2005. The purpose of the Strategy is to set direction for management of the facility over the next 10 years (2005-2015).

Athletes Assistance - Policy - Fin.11 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose of the policy is to provide guidelines for the allocation of Athletes Assistance funds.

Asset Management - Policy - 01.35 v1.0 - Adopted 25/11/2008. The purpose of the policy is to set policy for implementing consistent Asset Management processes throughout Tumut Shire Council.

Asbestos - Policy - OHS.01 v1.0 - Adopted 25/08/2009. The purpose of this policy is to follow the National Occupational Health and Safety Commissions Codes of Practice for Removal, Management and Control of Asbestos in Workplaces. The aim of this policy is to: •To identify, protect and the long-term removal of ACM, sheet, roofing, flues etc. •To control the risk of generating airborne asbestos fibre. •To control the risk of exposure to airborne asbestos fibre. •To ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001 - Part 8.7 and outline the safe removal and disposal of asbestos related material and to prevent/avoid exposure to airborne asbestos fibres.

IT Disaster Recovery Plan and Agreement - 01.26 v1.0 - Adopted 23/08/2005. This reciprocal agreement has been established with Snowy Works & Services due to the similar systems adopted by the two organisations and their close working and business relationship.

Influenza Pandemic Contingency Plan - CorpPlan.07 v2.0 - Adopted 15/12/2009. This pandemic plan has been developed for the Tumut Shire Council and Snowy Works and Services and its purpose is not only to make staff members aware of the potential outbreak of an influenza pandemic but to also attempt to minimise the impact on our day to day business operations by proactively developing contingencies that minimise the spread of this disease and ensure business continuity.

Industrial Strategy - 03.84 v1.1 - Adopted 28/08/2007. The aim is to adopt a framework that guides Council in the future provision of industrial land.

Immunisation Policy - OHS.06 v1.3 - Adopted 29/09/2009. Through the implementation of this policy Council seeks to provide protection for employees against the contraction of Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus and Influenza in the course of their duties.

Hearing Protection Policy - OHS.04 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose is to outline Tumut Shire Council's instructions and care for hearing protection equipment.

Small Neighbourhood Parks and Playground Generic Plan - 01.09 v1.0 - Adopted 16/07/1996. The aim is to provide a generic plan of management to comply with the Act in relation to small neighbourhood parks and playgrounds within council’s area of up to 2 hectares.

Gathering Information Policy - RM.01 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. Council aims to provide sustainability to the community, by providing services and making decisions that enhance our quality of life, our economic and natural environment.

Fraud and Corruption Prevention Plan - CorpPlan.11 v1.0 - Adopted 23/02/2010. The purpose of Council’s Fraud & Corruption Prevention Plan is to: Protect public funds and assets; Protect the integrity, security and reputation of the Council and its staff; and Maintain a high level of services to the community.

Fraud and Corruption Prevention Policy - Gov.04 v2.0 - Adopted 23/02/2010. The purpose is to limit Tumut Shire Council’s exposure to corrupt or fraudulent activities of any kind and to ensure that the actions of any persons do not result in corrupt or fraudulent acts.

Flood Plain Managment Policy - Bld.06 v1.3 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose is; a) to alert the community to the extent and hazard of flood liable land within the Shire; b) To inform the community of Council's policy in relation to the development and use of flood liable land; c) To define a flood standard; d) To encourage development and construction which is compatible with flood hazard. e) To reduce the risk and implications of flooding; f) To support and implement the NSW State Government Flood Prone Land Policy.

First Aid Policy - 02.78 v1.0 - Adopted 28/10/2008. The aim is to ensure, as far as practicable, that each working area has an employee in a designated position able to provide first aid in the event of an injury or accident and to comply with legislation regarding the provision of First Aid in the Workplace.  

Fire Station Policy - Emerg.03 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose is to have a Council policy on Bush Fire Brigade self funding of Brigade Stations and Storage sheds for the storage of fire fighting equipment.

Friends of Tumut Wetlands Terms of Reference - TofR.06 v1.1 - Adopted 28/02/2012. The purpose of the committee is to: Provide appropriate advice and recommendations on matters relevant to the Tumut Wetlands; Provide a forum for discussion of wetland related issues; To improve the amenity of the Tumut Wetland as a community asset and to recognise the need to save and reinstate as much of the original native flora and fauna as possible but enable judicious use of the area for passive recreation and education including Aboriginal education (taken from Riverglade Wetland Management Plan, 2003).

Footpaths and Pedestrian Ways Policy - Roads.04 v1.6 - Adopted 28/02/2012. The purpose is the Provision of requirements for the organised extension, improvement and maintenance of footpaths and pedestrian ways within townships in the Shire of Tumut

Floodplain Risk Management Committee Terms of Reference - TofR.23 v1.0 - Adopted 24/04/2012. The purpose of the committee is to initially: Provide a forum for discussion of issues (technical, social, environmental and cultural) relevant to the development and implementation of a Floodplain Risk Management Plan for Adelong. Provide advice and recommendations on matters relevant to the development and implementation of a Floodplain Risk Management Plan for Adelong.

Extension of Sealed Roads Network Policy - Roads.12 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. the aims of this policy are; To provide a policy statement regarding Councils position in extending the sealed road network, To improve road safety as a result of the sealing of roads. To improve the level of service to road users by extending the sealed road network. To seal all higher use roads by the year 2020. To reduce to cost of rural roads maintenance. To provide criteria to be utilized in the selection of roads to be sealed. To provide the basis for a rolling sealing works program.

Equal Employment Opportunity Management Plan - CorpPlan.13 v2.0 - Adopted 27/07/2010. The purpose of Tumut Shire Council’s Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Plan is to comply with the requirements of the act by implementing strategies in key areas to eliminate discrimination in the workplace and eliminate barriers which exclude EEO groups from equal employment opportunity.

Equal Employment Opportunity Policy - HR.26 v1.0 - Adopted 25/05/2010. The aim of this policy is to provide guidance on the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and the responsibilities for implementing EEO within the workplace.

Environmental Policy for Works Activities - Env.11 v1.0 - Adopted 22/02/2011. The purpose is to undertake the appropriate Environmental Impact Assessment for all Council construction and maintenance activities in accordance with the requirements of relevant NSW and Federal Government legislation.

Environmental Audit Policy - Env.08 v1.4 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose is to protect the environment with a proactive approach to mitigating environmental risk caused by the actions or omissions of industrial or commercial uses of land.

Enforcement Policy - Reg.08 v1.3 - Adopted 15/12/2009. The purpose is to assist Council staff to act promptly, consistently and effectively in response to allegations of unlawful activity.

Enforcement Measures Companion Animals Policy - Reg.15 v1.0 - Adopted 24/08/2010. The objectives of this amendment are, as it relates to the investigation and enforcement of measures relating to dog attacks, to: Facilitate consistency of decision making when considering enforcement measures under Companion Animals Act (ie. Infringement notices, dangerous dog declaration, or interim destruction orders); and Support decision making processes under delegated authority in relation to alleged dog attacks.

Employee Assistance Program Policy - HR.13 v.13 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose is to explain how and when employees may make use of the Employee Assistance Program.

Electrical Transformer Location Policy - Bld.03 v1.0 - Adopted 24/11/2009. To provide guidelines that control the location and design of electrical transformers where new development requires an upgraded electricity supply.

Disability Access Plan 2012-2022 - CorpPlan.23 v1.0 - Adopted 28/02/2012.  

Dining Areas and Displays on Footpaths Policy - Reg/07 v1.5 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose of this policy is; To encourage, where appropriate, the establishment of footpath dining areas. To require footpath dining areas to be well designed well located. To ensure pedestrian traffic is not unduly impeded by the occupation of footpaths by footpath dining area and displays. To explain the process of obtaining approval to establish footpath dining area and displays on footpaths. To make the approvals process for footpath dining areas and displays less complicated and streamlined by combining approvals under one application. To identify the conditions under which use of public of footpaths for commercial purposed will be permitted.

Development Control Plan for Tumut Shire 2011 - DCP.01 v1.0 - Adopted 28/06/2011.  

Development Contribution for Water Supply & Sewerage Policy - RP.01 v2.1 - Adopted 16/12/2008. This policy is to be used to identify and proportion developer charges for water supply and sewerage infrastructure, as provided for under s64 of the Local Government Act 1993, to ensure full and equitable cost recovery between different land use categories.

Development and Maintenance Bond Policy  - TP.03 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The Purpose of this policy is to provide a process whereby Developers can provide Council with a monetary bond as security in lieu of physical works remaining to be completed on a development. Such bonds are retained by Council for a time determined by Council, and are refunded to Developers following the satisfactory completion of Development works, and or following the completion of a works maintenance period.

Deferred Payments of Development Contributions Policy - Fin.02 v1.1 - Adopted 24/02/2006. The Aim of this policy is to provide a consistent policy approach to provide for the deferment of contributions associated with development.

Cultural Plan 2012-2022 - CorpPlan.24 v1.0 - Adopted 27/03/2012.

TofR.16 v1.1 - Adopted 28/02/2012. The purpose of the committee is to: • Provide appropriate advice and recommendations on matters relevant to the promotion and development of cultural pursuits in the Shire, through the Tumut Shire Community Strategic Plan. • Provide a forum for discussion of cultural issues; • Conduct a biannual review of the Cultural Plan.

Counter Disaster Management of Records and Vital Records Recovery Plan - 01.24 v1.1 - Adopted 28/08/2007. The objective of this plan is; 1. To meet the objectives of the Tumut Shire Council’s Office Recovery Plan (ORP) in order to minimise disruption to Council services and adverse effects on the public, staff and Council itself. 2. To identify vital records critical to Council operation 3. To minimise loss or damage by implementing strategies to protect vital records. 4. To minimise loss or damage by implementing correct handling procedures to recover vital records and reduce further damage.

Council Investment Policy Statement - Fin.05 v1.0 - Adopted 28/06/2011. The purpose of this document is to establish the framework within which investment principles are to apply to the investment of Council funds. It details: Council Funds covered by this Investment Policy Statement; Council’s objectives for its investment portfolio/s; how investments are to be undertaken; the applicable risks to be managed; any constraints and other prudential requirements to apply to the investments of Funds having regard to the applicable legislation and regulations governing Council investment; the manner in which compliance with the Policy & Strategy will be monitored and reported; appropriately reflecting the expected level of future returns; and appropriate benchmarks for each category of investments.

Council Delegate Reports Policy - Gov.05 v1.3 - Adopted 29/09/2009. To advise Councillors/staff of their responsibilities in relation to attendance at any meetings where they were a delegate of Council.

Contaminated Land Policy - Env.02 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose of this Policy is to establish “Best Practice” for managing land contamination through the Planning and Development Control Process in Tumut Shire.

Complaints & Customer Request Policy - CusServ.01 v2.0 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose of the policy is to provide guidelines for dealing with complaints and customer requests submitted or referred to Tumut Shire Council concerning level or quality of Council service.

Competitive Neutrality Complaints and Procedures Policy - Gov.03 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. Competitive neutrality is one of the principles of National Competition Policy which is applied throughout Australia at all levels of Government, including Local Government. It is based on the concept of a 'level playing field' for competitors in a market, be they public or private sector competitors. Government business organisations, whether they be Commonwealth, State or Local Government, must operate without competitive advantages over private sector business as a result of their public ownership. Where Tumut Shire Council competes in the market place with private businesses, the Council must do so on the basis that it does not utilise its public position to gain an unfair advantage over private businesses who are in competition with the Council.

Positive Ageing Plan 2010-2015 - CorpPlan.16 v1.0 - Adopted 26/10/2010. As part of the Community Plan for the Tumut Shire 2010-2020, the Positive Ageing Plan provides a set of goals and strategies for action to address the needs for seniors and the community issues involved in an ageing population.

Orchard Farming near Rural Dwellings Policy - Env.10 v1.3 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose is to facilitate the operation of the horticultural industry within the Shire, while minimising the adverse amenity impacts on rural residential dwellers.

Payment of Expenses for Mayor and Councillors - Clr.01 v2.0 - Adopted 30 October 2012. The purpose of the policy is to ensure that councillors receive adequate and reasonable expenses and facilities to enable them to carry out their civic duties. It ensures that these are provided in an accountable and transparent manner.

Private Sewerage Service Pumping System Policy - WWtr.02 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. To set conditions under which a private sewerage pump out facility may be installed to a property.

Management of Remuneration Packages Policy - 02.15 v1.0 - Adopted 28/05/2005. The aim is to provide full details about how Council will manage remuneration packages for Managers

Lease-Licence of Council-Crown Land - Policy - Gov.11 v1.3 - Adopted 24/11/2009. To lease Council owned land to the public on a three year term with an option of extension for a further three years and to licence Crown Land or reserves to the public for a three year term.

Metal Clad Buildings Policy - Bld.01 v1.4 - Adopted 30/06/2009. The aim is to outline the requirements for metal clad buildings with the intent of minimising potential adverse impacts on the environment and surroundings properties caused by glare and/or inappropriate colours.

Plaque Guidelines Policy - Gdl.01 v1.0 - Adopted 23/08/2011. These guidelines are intended to provide guidance and a consistent framework for the installation of all plaques to be installed in the Tumut local government area.

Noise Control Policy - Env.04 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. Tumut Shire Council is committed to controlling noise levels to minimise noise induced hearing loss in accordance with OH & S (noise) regulation of 2001.

OHS Saleyard Manual - 01.03 v1.1 - Adopted 22/02/2005. The manual has been developed to assist Saleyard Operators in New South Wales implement their statutory obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act 2000 and OHS Regulation 2001.

Plant Replacement Policy - Reg.13 v1.2 - Adopted 24/11/2009. The purpose is; To maintain a modern and safe plant fleet that enables Council to deliver reliable and efficient services to its customers To establish a plant replacement methodology that ensures costs of plant replacement are fully accounted for, enabling Council to understand the true costs of providing its plant fleet (i.e. that the plant fleet is able to be considered as a ‘self-funding business unit’).

No Smoking in Public Places and Council Owned Land Policy - OHS.11 v1.0 - Adopted 22/06/2010. The purpose is to guide the Tumut Shire community towards a safer and healthier smoke-free environment

Noxious Weeds Management Policy - Env.09 v2.0 - Adopted  24/05/2011. The purpose is to advise the community how Council will manage infestations of noxious weeds within the Shire.

Maintenance of Public Roads and Property Accesses Policy - Roads.06 v1.3 - Adopted 27/09/2011. The purpose is; To provide a risk management approach to the inspection and maintenance of public roads and footpaths to improve the safety of public roads. To reduce the potential for personal injury and hence public liability claims against Council and the Community it represents. To provide guidelines for the approval, construction and maintenance of property entrances, driveways, culverts or structures as defined in the Roads Act 1993. To provide a minimum standard of all-weather access to councils maintained public road network as defined in attached maps. To provide guidelines when access to a property is required from a Council maintained road which is not located within a road reserve.

Community Plan 2010-2020 for Tumut Shire - CorpPlan.09 v1.0 - Adopted 15/12/2009. The aim is to develop a Community Plan to meet ongoing and future community needs such as community services and facilities, employment and business development, education and training, health care etc. The Community Plan willinform Tumut Shire Council’s 10 year Strategic Plan together with other plans from state and federal agencies.

Kerb and Gutter Policy - Roads.05 v1.6 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose is the Provision of the organised extension, improvement and maintenance of kerb and gutter within townships in the Shire of Tumut.

PPE for Work in Hot and Cold Environments Policy - OHS.09 v2.1 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The aims of this policy are to: reinforce Councils commitment to providing a safe and healthy work environment. To provide a mechanism for protection against ultraviolet radiation.

Occupational Health and Safety Strategic Plan 2008-2010 - 01.27 v2.1 - Adopted 28/10/2008.  

Companion Animals Management Plan 2010-2015 - CorpPlan.06 v1.0 - Adopted 24/08/2010. The objective of this plan is to: a. Encourage responsible pet ownership through active compliance and enforcement of the Companion Animals Legislation. b. Encourage responsible pet ownership through community education. c. Reduce the numbers of unwanted companion animals. d. Reduce the number of companion animal complaints received from residents.

Local Approvals Policy - Reg.04 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The Policy aims to: a) Ensure consistency and fairness in the manner in which Council deals with applications for approval. b) Encourage and assist effective participation by local communities in decision making. c) Applying consistent requirements and procedures to approvals.

IT Strategy 2010-2012 - RP.03 v1.7 - Adopted 23/03/2010. The purpose of this strategy is to describe the current capabilities of Tumut Shire Council’s I.T. network in terms of hardware, software and network support.

On-site Sewage Management Plan 2010 - CorpPlan.14 v2.0 - Adopted 23/03/2010. This plan sets out Council’s response to current legislation. The broad objective is to ensure that there is a system in place to provide administration and control of on-site sewage management system (OSMS).

On-site Sewerage Management Code - RP.02 v1.4 - Adopted 29/09/2010. This Code sets out Council's requirements for ossm systems from domestic premises comprising not more than five (6) bedrooms, i.e., ten (10) persons. Commercial, industrial and large domestic disposal systems will require special consideration not covered by this Code.

Occupational Health and Safety Policy - OHS.08 v1.7 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose is to provide a safe and healthy place for employees and contractors to work and for people to visit.

Community Strengthening Policy - ComDev.06 v1.0 - Adopted 26/10/2010. The aims of Tumut Shire Council’s Community Strengthening Policy are to: • Recognise, encourage and value the contribution of local residents in enhancing their local communities. • Foster partnerships which unite the community in positive, dynamic, caring and safe activities. • Promote the cultural richness and diversity of the Shire; including our heritage, local activities and physical features which emphasise our regional advantages for residents, businesses and visitors. • Create sustainable partnerships which encourage learning and self-sufficiency. • Develop the skills and interests of residents and groups by facilitating and supporting new initiatives which encourage healthy living and social connectedness including innovative programs/activities, community festivals and events. • Ensure transparency and equity in the means by which Council distributes funding for events, projects, activities and facilities which comply with the relevant guidelines.

Open Space Asset Management Plan 2008-2018 - 01.34 v1.0 - Adopted 24/06/2008.  

Pesticide Use Notification Plan - CorpPlan.19 v2.0 - Adopted22/02/2011. The aim of this plan is to meet the community’s general right to know about pesticide applications made to outdoor public places that are owned or controlled by Tumut Shire Council. The plan allows members of the community to take action to avoid contact with pesticides, if they wish.

Leash Free Dog Exercise Area Policy - Reg.09 v1.4 - Adopted 29/09/2009. The aim is to provide an area within Tumut where dogs may be exercised without the restraint of a leash.

Communications Committee Terms of Reference - TofR.09 v1.2 - Adopted 24/03/2009. The purpose of the committee is to achieve a high standard of communications in the Tumut Shire.

Communications Policy - GOV.14 v2.0 - Adopted 24/05/2011. This Tumut Shire Council Communications Policy sets out Tumut Shire Council’s approach to communication it undertakes with its community. It provides a broad framework for the manner in which Council will communicate with the community and sets out specific guidelines for a number of key areas.

Climate Change Action Plan - CorpPlan.02 v1.0 - Adotped 24/03/2009 - This Plan has three objectives: 1. To reduce Tumut Shire energy, water and material requirements per capita. These efficiencies are understood to strengthen our economic base. 2. To build capacity within the Tumut Shire towards managing projected climate change. 3. To work with all tiers of government to build resilience and capacity on a per capita basis.

Climate Change Policy - ENV.06 v1.1 - Adopted 29/09/2009 - Scientific evidence shows that human activities have caused substantial global warming and continued growth in greenhouse  missions will lead to high risks of dangerous climate change and Climate change will have far reaching effects on Australia’s people, economy, society and the environment.

Child Protection Policy - HR.09 v2.0 - Adopted 08/11/2012 - The Aim of this policy is to: 1. Provide a safe, caring and nurturing environment for children and young people using Tumut Shire Councils services and facilities that is also free from discrimination and that caters for the rights of all parties;  2. Comply with all obligations under the NSW Child Protection Legal Framework; and 3. Ensure a fair and just process for staff involved in any investigation of child related matters at all stages of their employment relationship.

Certificates Applications & Orders Policy - TP.01 v1.2 - Adopted 29/09/2009 - Tumut Council recognises as a Member Council of Statewide Mutual its obligation to put in place systems and procedures to support the issue of Certificates, Applications and Orders to minimise its risks arising from the possibility of errors or incorrect information thus reducing the potential of a professional liability claim being made against it.

Cemeteries Policy - CnclAmen.01 v1.7 - Adopted 29/09/2009 - The purpose of this policy is to provide information to the community on the terms and conditions for use of cemeteries within the Shire.    

Cashiering Discrepancy - Policy - Fin.06 v1.2 - adopted 29/09/2009. The purpose of this policy is to explain how to deal with discrepancies in cash floats and balances.

Camp Hudson Committee Terms of Reference - TofR.21 v1.0 - adopted 28/02/2012 - The purpose of the committee is to manage the Camp Hudson facility by; •    Ensuring Compliance with the terms and conditions of the Deed of Licence between Tumut Shire Council and the Camp Hudson Management Committee. •    Assist Tumut Shire Council to comply with the terms and conditions of the Licence between the National Parks and Wildlife Services and Tumut Shire Council.

Adelong Show & Recreation Ground 2005-2015 - Strategy - 01.29 v1.0 - Adopted 25/10/2005 The purpose of the strategy is to set direction for management of the showground over the next 10 years (2005-2015).

Activities During Fire Bans - Policy - Emerg.02 v1.3 - Adopted 29/09/2009 The purpose of the policy is to ensure Council does not contribute to dangerous conditions during Total Fire Bans.

Alcohol Free Zone - Policy - Reg.01v1.4 - Adopted 24/02/2009. The purpose of this policy is to identify the location and duration of alcohol free zones within the Shire.
