The purpose of the committee is to achieve a high standard of communications in the Tumut Shire.

Statement
To operate transmission facilities under the Blackspots Program. To investigate and report on existing shortcomings in communications to the shire and to forecast the ongoing needs. To endeavour to have broadcasters and Telcos enhance the signal or equipment where shortcomings are identified. To investigate sources of funding assistance for capital works and to make recommendations on funding both of a capital and operational nature. That Council facilitate the ongoing services of Community Radio to the Shire.

Delegates
The Committee may, at its discretion, allow non-members, observers and advisers to attend meetings of the committee to facilitate exchange of information and to provide specialist advice and counsel to the Committee
