The Committee
The purpose of the committee is to:
- Provide a forum to monitor all aspects of tourism activity within the Shire.
- Act as a conduit for information flow between tourism stakeholders in the Shire;
- Foster links between the Visitor Centre, the local tourism industry, Council and other major tourism stakeholders in the Shire;
- Leverage funds between the State and Regional Tourist Organisations;
- Provide recommendations for councils consideration regarding actions required to address tourism issues;
Delegates
The Advisory Committee shall have the following membership:
- Three Councillors (Delegates)
- One Councillor (Alternate Delegate)
- one representative from the Tumut Region Visitors Centre
- one representative fromTourismSnowyMountains
- one representative from the Tumut Region Chamber of Commerce
- four community persons appointed by Council whose appointment shall be based on experience and expertise
- one Tumut Shire Council staff member.
