How long may I keep library materials?
Most items are available for a period of 4 weeks. DVDs are a 2 week loan.

How many items can I check out?
Library members may borrow a maximum of 20 items at any one time, with a limit of 4 DVDs.

How will I know when my materials are due?
At the time of borrowing, you will receive a date due slip with your borrowed items. Keep this slip as a record of items borrowed and when they are due. You may also access your record online by clicking here.

May I borrow if I don't have my card with me?
It is best (and fastest!) to use your card. We will make an exception once if you show photo ID and after that you will need to purchase a replacement card for $2.

Can I borrow material from another library?
Material not held by the RRL can often be obtained from another library. For information on this inter library loan service please ask at the information desk.

Can I borrow material from another Riverina Regional Library (RRL) branch library?
If an item is available at another branch of the RRL, it can be obtained for you. Ask staff at any of the counters or make your reservation online. We will mail a notice to the address recorded by the library or send an SMS if you are registered for that service and hold the reservation for you for twelve days. A fee of $1.00 applies for each reservation payable when you pick up the item.

Can I reserve an item that is out on loan?
If any item you want is already on loan, it may be reserved for you. Your borrower's card is required when reserving an item. The same card must be presented when collecting the item. You may also reserve an item online. A fee of $1.00 applies for each reservation payable when you pick up the item.

May I renew library items?
In most cases, a renewal of 2 weeks is available, provided the item is not on reserve for any other patrons. Renewals can be done at the library, over the phone or online by click here

Should I notify the Library if I change my address?
YES! Let us know whenever you change any information on your library card application.

What happens if my books are overdue?
As a courtesy, we will mail or SMS an overdue notice to you. Fines will begin to accumulate and the books will need to be returned.

May other people use my card?
Yes, but remember: everything checked out on YOUR card is YOUR responsibility.

What if I lose my card?
Let us know right away so that we can "stop" your card to prevent others from using it. There is a replacement charge of $2.00.

When is Storytime?
Storytime is held at the Tumut Library on Thursdays at 10.30am. Sessions are not held during school holidays.

Where can I return items if the library is closed?
You can return items through our after hours return chute which are located at the front of all four Shire libraries. Make sure you push the items in far enough for them to drop at the other end.
