Young Driver Initiatives

Statistics show that young drivers 17 to 20 years are three times more likely to be involved in casualty crashes.  Thats why the RTA has introduced the graduated licensing scheme which requires learner drivers to acquire 120 hours of supervised driving practice.

Helping Learner Drivers Become Safer Drivers
The Road Safety Officer is supporting parents and supervisors of learner drivers by presenting Graduated Licensing Scheme workshops which are designed to help with practical advice about:

  • Supervising learner drivers
  • Completing the Learner Driver Log Book, and
  • The benefits of driving practice.
