Council commissioned a report that provided detailed analysis of past electricity consumption and the present energy purchasing arrangements and network tariff designation for 77 sites operated by Tumut Shire Council. Eighty nine metering points were assessed across these sites and consisted on 88 electricity connections and one natural gas connection point.
Following review of the existing billing and interval data for each site several opportunities for electricity cost saving were identified at an estimated annual cost saving of $73,480 and implementation cost of $41,510. The payback period for implementation is less than 7 months. Recommendations have been separated into four categories (See Table 1 and Figure 1).
Figure 1 below shows the top 30 sites with the value of savings indicated in green.
